And that as an individual you are best placed to understand yourself and your experiences. The role as a counsellor is to support you to make sense of things and get to where you want to be.
We also believe that the things you think or do without thinking can tell us about hidden parts of yourself, and through therapy this can be bought to your attention to do with as you wish.
The foundation of the work begins with a warm, non judgemental environment with an empathic ear to listen and truly hear the client. Working together with use of exploration questions to help clients to gain a greater understanding and insight into their problems and maybe the solutions that they seek. As every client is individual and past experience different, the way of working is reflective of this by using and mixing different counselling approaches to best suit to individual client. This can be a mixed of the person centred approach, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy.
